A-1 Maintenance is my home repair company in Big Bear Lake, Ca. I am a licensed General
Contractor and my background has been in construction, home maintenance and repair,
and Solar energy. I have installed thousands of energy saving devises in homes and
businesses over the past 25 years.
A-1 is active with up-to-date information that
is updated weekly with new ideas for energy savings solution in your home. Some information
has been around for a long period of time, but we, as consumers and home owners,
forget with our busy daily lives to try to conserve energy to reduce our out-of-control
utility bills. Turning off lights in rooms not being used, repairing leaky faucets,
installing low-flow shower heads, or adjusting thermostats up or down according to
seasons. At one time, America's home energy picture was highly desirable. In the
late 1970's and early 1980's, consumption plummeted by 1/3 as homeowners took steps
to conserve by caulking around windows and adding insulation. Yet homes built since
the 1990's take more energy to heat than older houses. Why? Because the average size
house has climbed dramatically from about 1500 sq.ft. to nearly 2500 sq. ft. Take
into consideration also, that the population continues to grow and with it the skyrocketing
national energy consumption.
We, as American consumers, must "go green" and work
together to use alternative energy sources and ways to conserve energy at the grass
roots level.
